It started out as a prank on April fool's Day in the New York Times or Post. I think it was around 2016-2017 or something. But then it caught on and people actually started doing it. Not this cat.

A former colleague who moved to Manhattan sent me a picture of it. If memory serves it was on the level of the erudite New Yorker mocking the southern rube who would be so foolish as to think this might be tasty. Something like that.
