Air Fryer - gotta have or a gimmick?

I have a Ninja Foodi. I don't use it as much as I should; but it does the job when I do use it. Did these chicken wings in the first picture and the tater tots in the second picture.

My Brother has an air fryer.
It has a rather small capacity.
He & his kids & grandkids have tested it on a couple dozen different types of food, and they find it works great only a few things but those things it does very very well. Totally "worth it" to him and his family.
