Hmm. Wouldn't have thought that would work. You cast in the 600-700 degree range. I thought cooking oil burned off in the 400degree range.

Muffin pans make jam up ingot molds.
I use the long skinny cornbread mold it works great in my lee bottom pourYep, and they always seem like the perfect size to put in the pot.
I actually have some that are shaped like little cornbreads, for topping the pot off.

And when you are done, you should be able to see yourself in the pot.I just throw everything in the pot, wheelwright clips & all. Stir with spoon, add piece of candle, stir again and dip out the scum & floaters
