Why can't traders be honest?

Seller: "Awesome LNIB Early Ruger Single Six"
Me: "Great looking gun, what condition is the box"
Seller: "I don't have the box, but the gun is just like it came from the box."
Me: "Then, how do you know that's what it looked like when it came out of the box?"
Seller: "Trust me, it's super clean"
Me: "Have you ever taken a brand new gun out of the box?"
Seller: "I've never bought a new gun before; so , no."
Me: "Thanks! GLWS"

My only beef is "I bought this $300 bolt action rifle & invested $200 into internet parts and paid joe blow at the pawn shop to install them then I spray painted it camo. It is now worth $1654.32 and is to be considered a performance sniper rifle, sighted in at 1000 yards with .300 blkout..." That story gets old. And I understand you built of a crap gun and its kinda neat now but.... its still the same crap gun. I mean I paid to have carbon fiber grips made, the frame and slider cerakoted and polished everything real nice on my Tokarev but if I were to sell it I'd still expect to get $175-300. Not $500. Its like seeing a Ford Festiva with mx5 wheels and a hood scoop, sorry bru you still only getting $800 for that car.
