Springs are a "consumable" just like oil and shocks on a car. We were discussing "working parts". Still waiting for a link.

Beretta 92/96 locking block. Springs maybe consumable but you want to know if it is the case to replace them or not. But I agree with you, for pistols with a life span longer than what us, our kids, and their kids will probably ever shoot, our of them, "two mags down the pipe" or 1000 rounds don't really make a big difference other than maybe the fact that higer the round count and higher the probability of finding dings or scratches.

Same could be said about taking the oil out of your car and letting us know how it runs.

I've got a revolver that's had thousands of round shot through it, but if you're interested in buying it, the count rounds off to less than 100.
