Scare sales

Surprised to see this thread reopened. I feel like the mods should have left the responses of that guy threatening the wives and children of LEOs so everyone knows what type of "man" he is....just sayin.

Yeah, I'm not even going to touch this thread.

Somebody tell me how that force ignore thing works or where to find the sticky please.

Earlier, before the Mods locked this one up, I was going to say that that dude is the type that you see on the nightly news sooner or later. But then I read these comments and figured I would just get back to work.

Although I completely agree with what you have said I do think that it is still early for this type of speech just yet. My tinfoil hat has not blocked everything and I do believe that it may come to this someday, I'm just not sure it is here yet.

I will leave everyone with this though. In my mind these are powerful words that are under appreciated.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I've seen that before and remembered it, because he was speaking from experience if I recall .....

Yea it was terrible bud, just terrible!
Worst I've seen here - ever.

It's really cute when you beat your chest and go all native but consider this.

The National Firearms Act was enacted in 1934. Before that it was perfectly legal for Joe Sixpack it own a full auto gun (Thompson submachine gun), a short barreled or short-stocked shotgun, or a smooth bored pistol. Smooth bored pistols were produced by various manufacturers, and were quiet common for "varmint control" - pistols that would shoot a small caliber shotshell.

Today most of the forum members have never seen a smooth bored pistol, held a sawed off shotgun or fired a Thompson sub-machine gun. When WW II started 10 years later, all of these weapons had been eliminated from general commerce, and the only ones commonly available were those registered with the government.

Despite fighting a world war with millions of automatic small arms, virtually none reached the United States. Same for the Korean War, and the Viet Nam War, where every soldier had a full auto weapon. None of these made their way back to the US and those that did were quickly confiscated.

So you can shout "live free or die" all you want to, but history says that when the ban comes, most people will surrender their guns one way or another. Look at Australia.

To paraphrase, "those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it".

The irony of all this is in the computer age, determining who has a gun and who should turn it in is so much easier than it was in 1935. Look just at this thread. You think the internet gives you any kind of anonymity? Check with Hillary Clinton about that.
