QRF May Day Suppressor Demo Event 5/7/16

I had a great time. I got to shoot a few guns that were on my list and a few cans I have been reading about. Can't wait for the one in October in Macon.
And now, pictures. 20160507_093224.jpg 20160507_093904.jpg

I got to shoot that Arsenal AK, it was nice. In all honesty, I think instead of worring about threading my Vepr, I'll just pick up a KS47, when funds allow. Still can use my AK mags.

How was the Obsidian?

I liked it a lot on my AR45, very quiet. I also ran the AR45 with the Octane and didn't notice any noticeable different. Granted, it was hard to tell with all the shooting going on. At times it was still very noisy because of supersonic ammo being shot rapidly/full auto.

I was just so tickled that QRF was selling Obsidians at the show today. I've been camped out on QRF's site, the Obsidian page in particular, since some time in January. I was worried that I'd get a "in stock" email only to get to their site and see they'd been sold out again. As mentioned above, the $25 entry fee was well worth it. Getting "hands/ears on" experience with numerous manufacturers side-by-side was well worth it. Throw in a few "at bats" with the M240, and I think I came out ahead in the game.

Did Silencerco have the Maxim 9 there?

They did not. Last I heard they were still making tweaks to the design.

I have the Octane and ordered the Obsidian from them in Feb. Glad to hear it does well. I've been running my Octane on my 300blk which actually sounds awesome.

In the morning I was shooting 405grains @ ~1050fps, which was a hoot. Pssshh..... CLANG (992 ft lbf of KE)

After lunch I dipped into a different box of ammo, I thought was the same load. It wasn't.

It was was full pressure loads, 405gr @ ~1500fps (2024 ft lbf of KE) *boom* BWANG

I let the a couple of the ROs have a go with it, and they were knocking the target stands down with it. :becky:

The SilencerCo Hybrid did a great job with that.

So YOU ARE THE GUY! Man that 45 70 was awesome. I already have one threaded and my Hybrid is still 6 weeks out. I think you sold 2 or 3 Hybrids with that thing today. One of the ROs came to me after shooting it and said... be on the lookout for me a 45 70 because he has a Hybrid on order.
