Yeah, re-negotiating the deal at the meet is a douchebag move...but you did take the money. No negative feedback warranted.

If you are the buyer, step up and tell your side. Were you intentionally trying to take advantage of the seller? Was this a tactic you plan to try on others? I would really like to hear your side. I think there are quite a few of us who would like to know.

Ok, I have a few opinions. First, if a meet was set up, the weapon was as I had described it, then the selling price would have been the only amount I would have taken. Second, if another member/trader wanted to negotiate price at the meet, I would have replied with a simple thanks but no thanks, returned to my vehicle and went home. Third, I would not have asked on a thread what others thought, I would have blasted his ass with negative feedback and also started a thread telling everybody not to do business with that person. If somebody does not want negativity, then man up, be a person of character, do not be a POS, and be honest. Thanks.

On Thursday a buyer, with zero feedback contacted me by pm to purchase a firearm that I had listed for sale. He stated that if I still had it on Saturday, he would take it contingent on me meeting him out of town. I followed up with a phone call and marked the item pending. When we met, he said the item was beautiful and just as I had described and said it looked unfired. Then he questions me as to what was the least I would take for the firearm. I told him that I held the firearm with the understanding that he was paying my asking price. He then says, "hope I haven't wasted your time but I'm not willing to pay but X amount which was $75 less than my asking price". Had there been any issues with the firearm, I would have understood his offer but he stuck with the I'm only paying x amount.... I took the deal but would never do business with him again.... I could have possibly sold the gun for my asking price had I not held it for him..... Was he a jerk or not?

"JERK" isn't the word I would've used.

I know this sounds a bit hardcore but maybe, since it's a trading forum and that's the whole point, there need to be some rules of conduct/minimum requirements posted somewhere for any deal so that new guys know what is expected?
