To me, a firearms value is how much I want to shoot it and how well it does its particular job which is hitting targets at the distances the firearm was designed for. Or sentimental family firearms. Never really a dollar amount.

I guess I should clarify the word "use". I mean to take out in the field to hunt with or possibly shoot thousands of rounds . If you are going to the range and firing it, then the amount of usage probably won't effect he value.

I've never had one that didn't come to me used already. Just like my cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, etc. Was going to add wife to the list but that would be crass.
I have never owned one that I wouldn’t shoot. I have had some i sold with out shooting but wasn’t due to the value

I bought a Henry lever action 22 from an individual for a $100 that I gave to my daughter for her first rifle. That same gun has really jumped in price the last few years.
