Back in 1994ish I bought a Ruger 77 Zytel (boat Paddle) stainless in 7mm Mag. I figured it was ugly and didn't mind taking it out in the rain, mud ,snow, up mountains and into swamps. I drug that rifle from the swamps of South Georgia to the mountains of Idaho. I had a lot of prettier rifles that sat in the safe that I didn't want to scratch up. I would carry them on bluebird days in a box blind or sit on the ground. I later bought a Ruger 77 Lightweight carbine in stainless with laminated stock in 7mm-08 to carry while I was bow hunting late season. I would hang it off the climber stand just incase a real shooter showed up out of bow range. Now both of those rifle bring premium dollar and the pretty rifles sitting in the safe have not appreciated in value as much. So what gun did you buy to beat the heck out of and use like a tool that are now too valuable to use as such?
