Game warden question

Alright well problem solved and done. Game warden came on post today to go and see the federal game wardens here on Stewart. He dropped by my house to ticket me just as he had my friend. I called the jag office to see if he could legally do that. Well long story short as he is searching my car the mp's show up confiscate the tickets and ticket book and arrest the game warden. Wow was that awkward. Apparently he entered post under false pretense without a warrant or permission from the mp's to pay me a visit. Jag had called the mp's and i did not know about it. The mp's were extremely pissed that he was trying to pull thos crap after i explained the story. The major, that is the chief of police told me not to worry about it any longer that it was taken care of. A 19year old specialist cuffed him and took him away. His truck was gone today at lunch. Not sure how though. Oh well

How the hell did he get on Ft. Stewart then?

Oh he told them he was going to the game warden station on post, instead he dropped by to see me.

Because they have federal game wardens for fort Stewart specifically

First off GRATS! To you, your JAG rep and the MP's for dropping the hammer on that asshole. Damn glad to hear that outcome and hope your friends have their tickets torn up and fed to the jerk.

Second...

I have to disagree with this. There is no reason you can't carry legally owned and carried items with you any bloody where you want to. If they catch you with a bow, arrows a zillion candle watt spot light and a bag of glow in the dark deer corn they still better not mess with me until they put a damn law in the books against possession of ANY of those items. Up until then, messing with you for carrying any of those items is just profiling. Possession of legal items is not CAN NOT be a crime.
I know what your saying, but if i'm riding through the hood with a scale, ziploc bags, a mini-butane torch, and wearing a ski-mask, all legal to own, but if I was to get pulled over and the cop asks why do I have these items with me in a known drug area what do you think he's going to say. The perception is that i'm going to commit or have already committed a crime and the cop has been trained to then begin asking questions and ask if you consent to a search. Why would you want to put yourself in that situation, like the one the OP just went through. Innocent as it was, just looking at the deer, i'm sure he doesn't want to go through that again. Just my thoughts.

While I agree with not going out of your way to make yourself look guilty of something, it IS hunting season. Should I HIDE my bow on the way to the range or my hunting camp to keep from looking like Im hanging out the window poaching? Nope. As for your list, I use a small scale when I buy silver coins sometimes. I have ziplock bags in my BoB for who knows what I may need to water proof. And a small torch is great for emergency fire-starting, heat shrinking pre-fab fletching wrap and tons of other things. If you don't have drugs, you have no violation. Back when I was young everybody had roach clips hanging from their rear view mirrors cuz the feathers were pretty. As long as there wasn't any residue on the clips there was no law broken.

I've argued your side of this tons of tmes about the OC vs CC issue so I DO understand but the OP in this case would be absolutely right to demand somebody's butt on unemployment.

As much as I hate rogue cops and people of authority with GOD complexes I think the trooper was just doing his job, now the GW on the other hand they should not only fire him but he should be charged with harassment, trespassing, filing false report, and some others. I totally understand your arguement, but I myself would prefer to stay clear of all police interaction because this is one of my worst fears that some rookie trying to make a name for himself cuffs you and stuffs you, then you have an arrest record, lost wages, time in jail, court costs, attorney fees to prove your innocence. Doesn't seem worth it to me, same goes with open carry, why do it.

Open carry is perfectly legal :pop2:

I know it is, but it was brought up, same thing applies, if you don't draw attention to yourself or put yourself in a situation as to wear your having to explain why you have said items in your posession, then you should have nothing to worry about. I wasn't trying to de-rail his thread, just offered some friendly advice. I don't like police interaction therefore I try to avoid it

I am an LEO and I personally dont think those charges will stick. Devils advocate, if he cannot locate you to issue citation he will take warrants.
