Antique phone and booth in my living room

I had to replace the ringer in this one. Cost around $30 or $40 online and is an easy two wire hookup.

I have my great grandmother's old black rotary also. Now that I'm kind of hooked it will probably be my next project.

Troy, thank you. Do you remember what you ordered and from where to fix the ringer?
Your phone booth and pay phone are gorgeous! It looks like it has a built in seat and a light. Where did you find that beauty? Happy trails and may God bless America.

About 15 years ago the GF's sister would make her daughter use one as punishment. LOL. I have a 1943 PacBell black rotary phone around here somewhere. Bought it NIB at an estate sale for $15.

I like that pay phone.

I ordered the first link, but for a desktop phone I think the second one may be closer to original. I also ordered the replacement condenser (third link) but didn’t need to replace mine.

Basically the ringer hooks up with two wires. One is directly to the line from the wall. The other is connected to the condenser or a capacitor that is connected to the other line from the wall.

If you open your phone up and look on that site for the parts that match yours it should be easy to swap them out. They have multiple options for ringers and condensers/capacitors.

The light comes on when you close the door and off when you open it. It also has a blower with a switch in the upper right corner so it doesn’t get stuffy.

Crazily, a customer that I’ve been dealing with for years gave it to me! I’ve noticed it tucked it the corner of his basement which is packed with furniture and antiques. I asked him one day if I could take a pic to show my wife as I’ve always thought it was amazing, and he offered it to me. I wasn’t sure if he was serious, but he called me a few months later to schedule a time for me to come get it.
