Completely random, but here's what I've been working on lately. 100% functional now. Anyone want to bring their kids/grandkids over and confuse the hell outta them?

Troy, nice work! Love it. You'll have a ball with it.

I don't have time to mess with it, now, but I have the black rotary phone that my husband used courting me. It works fine, except that the ringer doesn't work. Also have an old typewriter that should have work. Something to see about later. Happy trails and may God bless America.

That's awesome, is it functional?
Yep. Its hooked up to an Ooma voip line with a pulse to tone converter. Sends and receives calls. The converter pulls voltage off the phone line, which interferes with the ringer operation. So with the converter on it rings once but doesn't continue due to low voltage. Without the converter it rings correctly but you can't dial out.

If it was on a standard land line I wouldn't have that issue.

I had to replace the ringer in this one. Cost around $30 or $40 online and is an easy two wire hookup.

I have my great grandmother's old black rotary also. Now that I'm kind of hooked it will probably be my next project.
