What is the best carry cartridge?

45ACP. Because it's a good threat stopper. Double Tap pistol for pocket carry, not a range gun. 1911 Lightweight for belt or shoulder holster and can drive tacks with it

Considering defense ammo, I have looked to the ballistics gel info on the web….

Here’s one site….

Personally, I’m using Speer Gold Dot in my 9 mm either 115/124 gr depending on barrel length. It seems to be the best for average penetration and expansion. The Speer Gold Dot though, is pretty sparse and difficult to find as Law Enforcement seems to get first dibs on production (that says something in itself).

I found other brands that seem satisfactory for use in my .380 and .45 acp based on the same test info I’ve read.

There's nothing better than getting paid to look out the window....

In medium to large sized defensive pistols, I think the .40 S&W is the best combination of power and controllable recoil.

But in a compact or micro sized deep concealment pistol, I want less recoil so I go with a nine.

Also if you shoot a whole lot or use your gun for action pistol competitions you may want a 9 mm for lower recoil and cheap practice ammo.
