SHTF in metro suburbs

Just watch the stores as they open on Thursday or Friday. That will show you the level of etiquette that is prevalent nowadays...

Exactly. I dont need any of the crap they are selling, save a little clothing for the family. Nothing I cant do without. I dont even have to think about it, because its not a nessecity of life. Yes, the TV's and Etc are "nice".... but what value do they bring me?

NOTHING! I cant eat them, they lose value, they break, and dont do me any good. I'd much rather have stable food, good tools, a little cash, some firearms, and a roof over my head.

Anyone have any thoughts as to what the neighbors would be doing? What will you be doing if you saw neighbors begging at your door asking if you had any food or supplies, would you share?

Unfortunately, most of my neighbors aren't very "neighborly". As for begging, the time when the great Charlton Heston (R.I.P.) rebuffed his liberal neighbors begging to borrow a shotgun during the L.A. riots comes to mind. After God, my first priority is my family, and I have relatives who are either too old to prep or are unable to- I plan to try to help take care of them.

Enough about Eastern Tennessee and it's crack like BBQ ribs that shouldn't even be labeled food and should be called " Godlike substance".

it will never occur to them to come to my door, they won't know i have anything....people who know me and know where i live will hopefully have the sense not to show up with no food...if they do they are no more welcome than anyone else....

people will change after....if you share a little they will be back later to take it all...or they will tell someone else where they got and they will come in force to take...

Not a slam at you brother. Just noting that I have seen this "talk" a lot from guys in the metro area and when invited to pm or meet up they never seem to follow through... IMHO.

Exactly. I made a promise a long time ago - NEVER to get shot with my own guns or ammo. Only one way to prevent that...

Rules of Engagement after SHTF:

1. Be courteous to everyone, friendly to no one.
2. Decide to be aggressive enough, quickly enough.
3. Have a plan.
4. Have a back-up plan, because the first one probably won't work.
5. Be polite. Be professional. But have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
6. Do not attend a gunfight with a handgun whose caliber does not start with a '4.'
7. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap. Life is expensive.
8. Move away from your attacker. Distance is your friend. (Lateral and diagonal preferred.)
9. Use cover or concealment as much as possible.
10. Flank your adversary. When possible, protect yours.
11. Always cheat; always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose.
12. In ten years, nobody will remember the details of caliber, stance, or tactics. They will only remember who lived.
13. If you are not shooting, you should be communicating your intention to shoot.
14. Do it!

USMC-Lock and Load. Thanks for the post SHTF Engagement rules. Good stuff. Watch your six when it does hit the fan. The dumb masses here in the ATL metro have the notion that your area is the land of milk and honey and food so plentiful that it will be sitting on picnic tables waiting for them. I will be forced to thin the heard as they loot their way north. I got family to care for down here, so i will be hunkered down hard. The neighbors might get some charity but i worry they will get the idea that they can try to take it all. If they are not part of your plan before then they should be encountered as you pointed out.
