Another option is National Forestry land. Just be mindful of what you're leaving behind. I would always take a tarp to lay out and catch the brass when I did this.

yes iknow about charlie elliot been there one time its pretty far away for me , 36 miles but maybe worth the the trip

We had a nice range here at the house here in Ghetto Grove that we used for 40 years. Had lots of young folks learn to shoot here but yes these days liability is a major consideration and by the time we had to shut it down it was pretty much limited to family and close friends. It was bermed had metered distances and shooting benches but due to the out of control over development we had to shut down everything two years ago.
It's getting really hard to find somewhere to shoot around here.
I will eventually have to find myself somewhere to shoot. I'm right down the road from the Griffin Gun club but I'm not sure I'm enough of a "good ole boy" for those folks.
