Major gasoline line that feeds the ATL in Alabama cut

My brother drives a gas tanker. He called me last night, said he and the other drivers he works with will probably be out of work for a few days. I filled my tanks and gas cans last night at $1.99 a gallon

I doubt that the trackhoe punctured the pipeline. My guess is there was another release, causing explosive vapor levels that a spark (caused by the trackhoe) ignited. Maybe it was vapors from the prior release?

Everything's speculation at present, but news sources indicate Colonial's contractor was in the process of removing the bypass pipe and bringing the original section of buried pipeline back online?

Possibly. There is always more detail to the story, but I got the info from Colonial's website.
