I don’t understand the senate gun bills definition of a dealer?

I heard from dan bongino that they put wording in the bill that if you are arrested “you” are required to provide your own lawyer and will not be funded by the government, I feel like that want to charge you, drain your bank account, you loose everything house, car, job. They make an example out of you. How many people would it take here on ODT to ruin before before we would stop selling to each other because we didn’t want the Same to happen to yourself?

I did see that "at no expense to the government" statement in there. Not sure how that is legal.

So are we going to start seeing large pride reductions in the classifieds (asking for a friend lol)
Well, it only goes through June, anyway.

They’re the gubmint. If they say you’re guilty, burden of proving innocence is on you. GLWS
That, plus they stated in the law "proof of profit shall not be required as to a person who engages in the regular and repetitive purchase and disposition of firearms for criminal purposes" which is what they will consider your sale to be.

You are right in that it could be applied to flippers, but I think it's pretty unlikely that they would have the resources to go after someone that sold a Glock for a $50 profit unless there was some other factor involved. Something political like the Rittenhouse case.

On the flip side it would be dead easy to send an agent to every gun show and see who setup tables as private sellers. Document a few of these instances and it wouldn't be hard to prove intent to make a profit.

Under the old law they would have had to show you were intending to make a 'livelihood' out of this kind of activity, but this new law lowers the bar.

They still might not win in court, after all 'intent' is a hard thing to prove, but I don't think they would care that much since they could say they put a 'rouge gun dealer' out of business.
What should you sell the $550 Glock you bought in the pandemic for today?
