I got my tech plus license about 1993 with the 5 words a minute. Lately I realized I forgot about half of the Morse code letters. I got into it because of my step dad and at the time it was pretty awesome to be able to dial a phone call through the radio. Now I just listen sometimes and especially when the tornado sirens are going off.

13 WPM Extra Class, Was an Advanced for 25 years prior to that. All total I have been a ham for about 40 years.

Ostensibly, the FCC; but mostly, the ham operators themselves.

I got my Tech Plus sometime around 1994, but let my license expire. I recently picked up the General class study materials; might give it another go.
