So what are the parameters of what constitutes an ANGLED foregrip, exactly, as it pertains to an AR pistol?

According to this link, ( https://imgur.com/a/BtvLGzQ ) the federal government doesn't strictly define what a vertical grip is, but the ATF finds that it's a grip that sits 1) forward of the magazine well, and 2) extends 90 degrees perpendicular to the bore.

With this being said, could you TECHNICALLY place a BCM Gunfighter grip on an AR pistol -regardless of OAL- since it extends at an angle that is CLEARLY not 90 degrees perpendicular to the bore?

No I'm not going to write the ATF for clarification, because **** the ATF. Just curious what your interpretations are.

I think you're concentrating on the wrong aspect. What makes a handgun a handgun is that is is "designed to be held and fired by the use of a single hand." 18 U.S.C. 922(a)(29)(A). If you add a fore grip at any angle, you are making it designed to be held and fired with two hands. What is the purpose of a fore grip if not for gripping with the non-shooting hand? Putting a gore grip on a handgun makes it an Any Other Weapon.

How bout a Mac style strap hanger?
