Just got a message from a newbie informing me he's 18 and legally allowed to buy one of my pistols. I don't feel as though that dog will hunt.

He is though. Assuming he is in fact over 18 with no felonies. Got my first 9mm handgun on armslist at 18. Seller told me about this site after buying. Seems he was a member on here. A little shady. Ar parts everywhere and he invited me inside his house for the sale. But when your allowed to own But not to buy you gotta do what you gotta do.
Musta been the exact same kid that hit me up a few days ago saying the EXACT same thing...may be legal but im not gonna put my name on that deal...

You’re wrong. It’s legal for an 18YOA to purchase a handgun from a private individual.
It is illegal for an 18YOA to attempt to purchase a handgun from an FFL.
Sometimes age isn’t an indicator of knowledge.
Of course, if you don’t feel comfortable with it, ya ain’t gotta sell to them.
It’s all good till the mfers with the rain jackets jump out of the bushes on you! In the past, when ever I had the young or shady dude contact me, I always just decline and block them. This is a hobby, there is no need to get caught up in some bull crap.

case by case but he can buy... but if the government questions a 18YO ability to own a pistol...they need to question ones ability to vote or join the service.. you are an adult or not.. its that simple....
