I didn't used to, but nowadays it's 13+1 in my XD45.

All my guns stay loaded unless my very young grand kids come over and then I only keep my carry gun chambered. Their father is in the military and they are very familure with guns, in fact they often help me clean mine but they have neighbor kids over so it's a precaution I take.

Thank you for being such a reasonable gun owner. I would remove the nail clippers from the pink key someone could trim a nail.
