Does your handgun have a round in the chamber?

The other loudest sound is a "bang" when you expect a "click". As in, "No, it's not loaded here, take it...."

And by the way, that is my favorite "smiley"... it should be a permanent fixture on all posts by CCW.

Well, we live and learn, huh? The Glock does have a loaded chamber indicator on the extractor. Just think of the reasons why you didn't check the pistol before holstering and figure it out. No harm no foul this time, which is the happy ending. Thanks for bringing this up.

Yep. Old ones did not not, but the the extractor still extended past the slide, so you could feel it. before Glock upgraded Gen 2 G22 I used to have with a new extractor, I would always swipe the slide before carry.
Also, was the trigger in reset position on the empty chamber? Did you rack the slide before loading magazine in? That's the only way I can see it happening.
