There hasn't been a conclusive in vivo RCT that displays efficacy. The results are anecdotal, and when that is coupled with the fact that ~ 80% of the people who contract COVID-19 don't require hospitalization means that its not the "game changer" its touted to be. Like I said, the real game changer will be effective direct antiviral therapy.

Additionally, its abundant off-label usage is damaging accessibility for people who use it for RA and lupus.
It worked 100% for Dr Zelenski, 699 patients. Did all of his 699 patients happen to be in the 80% easy cases? Statistically impossible.
You have not done any research on chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine and zinc, have you? If you did, you would know that what realy stops the virus is zinc, and it has many years of proven effectivness against corona viruses. -quines just make it more effective and get zinc inside of the cells in greater concentration.

Here's an unscientific approach
  • Doctors are already prescribing it for themselves and patients
  • Fauci said he would take it if infected
  • Multiple big pharma companies are gearing up to make it so they believe it will work enough to be prescribed sufficiently to make money
  • Any reduction in the death rate or time in the hospital is beneficial

Watching the Giulani / Zelenko interview, it appears that the drug cocktail he is using keeps the disease from progressing to the point where it attacks the lungs and causes ARDS.

He's 500+ patients into this, all were sick, and none have been intubated. And he's a couple of weeks in at this point.

This should be the standard of care for COVID-19.

The French government has officially sanctioned prescriptions of chloroquine to treat certain coronavirus patients. Speaking about chloroquine, Jérôme Salomon, France's director general of health, said: "This ensures continued treatment of patients who have been treated for several years for a chronic condition with this drug, but also allows a temporary authorization to allow certain patients with coronavirus to benefit from this therapeutic route."

Loss of smell and taste are common among the Covid19 patients, including asymptomatic.
Good primer on immune system and benefits of slight fever.

A friend of mine had this ^. Body aches, fever, and loss of taste and smell....but no chest, no sore throat. Pretty sure she had it. Quarantined herself for 14 days and all is well.
