Colt Commercial Model 1911

American Rifleman published this interesting article recently on the Colt commercial model 1911. I didn't know the "commercial model" was used by various law enforcement agencies, including the Texas Rangers and the U.S. Border Patrol... I guess I had always thought they got the military model for duty use.

Unfortunately not, sorry. You find them when you find them. I have seen one or two at various local gun shows though.

Thanks to @Heavy D , I found one. 1941 vintage. I am going to have Colt Archives letter it for me.
She's a shooter.
