The last time Julio signed a big contract I thought he should be traded for a couple of good young players while he was still valued highly. But the Falcons didn't ask me.
The team has had many ongoing issues during the Quinn era: no pass rush, poor run game, little protection for Matt, missed coverages on defense, games with a lot of penalties, lack of offensive production late in games, poor pass coverage, bad time MGT, many injuries on defense, lack of O-Line protection, players act worn out later in games, seems motivation is low and getting worse, lack of basic game rules knowledge, bad offensive play calling, etc.
One or two new players won't solve all of these overnight. It will be a while before these are all addressed - if they are given the cap space. We overpaid for Freeman, Julio, Matt, and many others over the years and now will have to live with the consequences.
I'd trade Julio long before Matt personally. Maybe you'd get a big Herschel Walker type deal from another team and get several players for him...who knows. Ridley has been great, so Julio can be let go.

That was a nice play, even if it was improvised as they went along. Second half points is good too. We've been struggling there.

The Falcons will do just enough to screw up their draft pick and will be lucky if they can make the playoffs. Sorry, but after the Braves blew the 3-1 NCLS series, I am even more certain that ATL sports teams are jinxed!!!!!
