I think your problem is that you got it in your head that the AO gunsmith would fix it when shipping it back to the manufacturer was the right answer all along. It's a warranty issue and you don't want to ruin it by letting a gunsmith work on it.

Besides, if the AO gunsmith fixes it, it probably won't be functional when you get it back - and there's a good chance it will be cerakoted a different color.

as much as i hate AO, it does seem they are treating you fairly and giving you the range time and free rentals is above board for something that's not their fault. I do have to give them a +1 in this instance.
