Yeah you have to move the fcg up to its normal place to add the pistol grip and normal buttstock. you also need to put a feed ramp in it so it will accept normal ak mags. There is a lot more in depth way to convert the front handguard, but all i did was swap out the gas tube and get a bolt on lower handguard retainer. Some swap out the front sight and thread the barrell and install a different gas block.. But remember once you convert it the gun falls under 922r so you have to stay compliant.

idk about converting the rear (it was converted already) but the front was a breeze

IMO aks should be wood, leave plastic for the ars.
