With practice ammo hard to come by, what are you practicing?

I've drastically reduced the amount of ammo I'm shooting in live-fire practice by working in dry-fire runs and always gripping 100%. If something doesn't go right on a live-fire drill, I'll unload and dry-fire it a couple times to identify and/or correct the issue before loading up and live-firing it again. Gripping with full-force every time simply means my forearms are smoked faster. I'm getting better training value out of every live-fire session as a result, it's pretty cool.

All this gets covered in detail at the class I teach periodically.
