I'm looking to add a below ground shelter. Does anyone on ODT do this in the area?

If you're going in with a red head then it's definitely not a "survival" shelter.

previous owner had a storm shelter installed they came in cut a square out of garage dropped in prefab metal box and backfilled with concrete, entry door doubles as a oil change pit lol

That is cool. If I was in a different situation I would live in one of those if they had an L shaped unit with a good crapper.

I wouldn't let anybody see it except for my best friends and not all of them just to select few. That way if the SHTF I wouldn't have a bunch of people knocking at the door.

I drove a tractor trailer for years and I use to pickup in Jasper off Hwy 53 at a manufacturing shop in an old school house. They did mostly military contracts, the made many a fall out shelter, that were made mostly without the doors. I hope this in some way helps you out.
