Thoughts on new Daniel defense d9 handgun?

The idea of a straight pull trigger is fantastic, now if they could just make it not 5-6 pounds and creepy. If the trigger was anything approaching a decent 1911 trigger they'd have a winner. Maybe they'll get it figured out.
Hate to hear that. I haven't actually pulled the trigger on one so was curious.

With no external safety though, I'm not surprised that it's a little heavy. You wouldn't want a light crisp 1911 trigger without an external safety.
5-6lb trigger pull wouldn't bother me at all, but I don't like creep. I like hitting a wall that kinda breaks.

It was shockingly bad for a gun that was on their wall at SHOT.

I have medium/large hands.
The front feels a bit Glocky to me.

The gun shot well for me.
It had light attached I didn't pay much attention to.
The recoil was nil with the light on it.

Yes it could have been better.

Lower price.
Better trigger..if you pay anywhere near a grand the damn thing should have a smooth trigger.. it doesn't.
(I could probably smooth it up)
Fiber optic sights~Really?
The grip angle is good but the font needs more rounding.

$1000 pistol as is IMHO.
I may pick one up...way later.

Not everyone has the same grip strength.
Arthritis, age and medical history is all a part of this.
I am covered with scars and have broken/dislocated a lot of bones in my hands at different times.

I like less recoil and easy to shoot, If I can shoot full power firearms that are easier to shoot I do so.
I can't shoot a normal P365 for crap....my P365XL I am decent with.

As you get older your eyes don't focus as fast.
I had PRK surgery in 2017 after my eyes had crapped out.(I had 20/1000 vision)
After the recovery year I shoot decent without corrective lenses.
The rear sight is a blur but with a decent front dot I am good to go.
I can tell my eyes don't focus as fast as they use to.

S&W makes the EZ line for a reason.
I have steered enough people to the line that S&W should pay me commissions.

Also as guns get lighter they tend to have more recoil.
Most folks don't want to carry a heavy all steel pistol in a major caliber.

Everything is just a matter of perspective.
Yours may not be the same as someone else's.

Oh hell no, you have to get emotionally upset and attempt to belittle anyone that doesn’t agree with your point of view. LOL
