It's called a dead cat bounce. Bear market rallies can be explosive but what's happening is market makers are running it up to dump on retail. You will see capitulation soon, the fundamentals don't support the rally. It's only bouncing on technicals.I hope I am not this naive. But the market was down all of September, now, first couple of days in October, it is going way up.
Is it this easy for the Dem/Socialist/Liberals to move it prior to an election??
If so, they are doing the same thing they did with gas prices.
And, the stock market will head back into bear market ground after the first week of November.
Not happy camper.

When you say "play the stock market" it conjures up images of day trading for me. I'd imagine most people making a middle class salary are investing in the stock market through some means.None of you actually play the stock market, do you?
I'm talking about being actively involved in it enough to actually understand how it works. When you say "play the stock market" it conjures up images of day trading for me. I'd imagine most people making a middle class salary are investing in the stock market through some means.
When’s the market going to go into a drastic downward spiral? My crystal ball is in the shop so I have to guess like everyone else.
I have a strategy but I am continually impressed by the inability of people to predict a plummet in a timely manner, myself included. I’ll just dollar cost average into any downward spiral and see how it goes. But I don’t know why it’s not dropping further already. You can always buy after every big dip, then let the stock build it's self up with dividend reinvestment.
I've got 30 years till retirement so I focus on dividend king stocks and enjoy the snowball effect it has while I wait out the ride. It fun to see your estimated yearly income grow every quarter.
The real challenge is to put that spare cash into the stock market rather than buying a new gun. For me, the price of guns these day's have helped with that.
