Snake boots.... Are they a necessary evil???

Few years ago I stepped over a fallen tree, all I could hear was a timber rattler underneath it rattling, the next day I was the proud owner of new snake boots,, like sniper 22 said rockys are good boots for the money and they have several models,

I know there are better boots made today. But I got to say those have been as good as any boot I ever had. Company is owned by justin now. You will not regret it.

I've personally never seen or came in contact with a live rattle snake in the wild. No telling how many cottonmouths and copperheads I've exterminated this year alone, but I'm will I would die from a heart attack when I do finally see one.

D_Max any recommendations as to brand and such?

My hunting boots are the Lacrosse Alpha Mudlite Snake Boots.

I have two pair of work boots: the Danner Sharptail snake boots which have unfortunately been discontinued and the Chippewa standard issue slip on snake boots.

Haha. I bout a pair of composite toe chippewas for work a few years ago, paid $200+ I think, wore em for 3 months, and threw em in the dumpster on burnt hickory rd!! They eat any and every pair of socks I tried..

Since I don't have very good luck when it comes to snakes, I wear boots and chaps both when in the woods while it's still hot.
