My grandfather always cooked bbq for our family reunions. There was always two pans, one goat and one pork. The goat was stringy but always had a better flavor. There were many converts who would have never eaten goat that became fans.
For a few years my grandfather had a pet goat named Charlie. Charlie would ride in the truck with him and follow him like a dog. Charlie would drink beer that the men left sitting around when we would have cook outs. I remember when I noticed I had not seen Charlie in a while. Then it hit me I had not seen him since just before the reunion.

There's a guy in Elko (Houston County) who has acres of goats. Go to his house and pick out one.
