Unfortuately for you, this thread had life in it long before you created it. Not certain but I think this line of questioning from other members refers to previous threads about prepper groups. I like the idea of loose associations that help to advise each other on techniques, gear etc. But some take a "poker player" approach to prepping. They don't wan't to show their hand i.e. gear, food quantity, etc. unless they know you REAL well.
I'm to far away from you anyway. But are you looking for like minded people to spend the nuclear winter with, or more of a meet and greet/swap meet to get to know people and learn techniques?
Just looking for a group of people to get to know, swap ideas, plan and trade with, maybe even do a mutual cache or something idk. Just seems like it would be a good idea to not go it totally alone. I understand the concept of opsec but knowing some neighbors could be mutually benifical.
Group 4 is in reference to a thread I started a couple of YEARS ago - about starting a Mutual Assistance Group. Your idea of meeting like minded people in a geographical area where you want to be is a great start.

I'm part of a group but I'm to far from you. We are 10-13 people, we stock food, weapons ammo and all have some type of specialty. We have 2 trained Medically people, 3 (18) wheeler drivers who are all forklift certified, (1Hunter/ Cook), 1- Electrical specialist, I'm ex-military with a Police background, who also trained in setting up tactical sensors. We are in contact with 2 other groups who have there own people, and gear. We will not join any other group that has LIBERALS or anyone who is NOT willing to fight for the good of the group NO EXCEPTIONS (People who are just EATERS will be stripped of all there possessions and told to leave) sometimes it's HELL trying to get these people to see that NOT EVERYONE is the enemy. Here's the crazy thing most of us met at gun shows or Preping shows. Like minded people will find each other!!
People who are just "eaters" will be stripped of all their possessions?
This is why I don't ever come close to a prepping group. I am not an "eater" but I'll be damned if I put myself in a situation where someone can vote to take my **** because I've had a sick kid, or been sick myself.
