Paranoid gun owners

As a dealer, I'm seeing .223/5.56mm becoming INCREASINGLY unavailable from my suppliers everyday. All of the cheap stuff; Wolf, Aquila. etc... are long gone. The best deals I've seen are actually on websites such as Sportsman's Guide. I keep an eye on SlickGuns.com to see what ammo deals pop up. I just bought 1000 rounds of Herter's (steel cased Russian: 500 rds FMJ & 500 rds HP) for $260 shipped thanks to coupons and sale pricing. The very next day, the "sale" price of the hollowpoints increased by $1 per box. I know steel cased ammo in not reloadable and therefore undesirable, but for .26 cents per round, I'll take it. It's great for plinking and zeroing at short distances.

I know there are a lot of people that are dead set against Wolf and other steel cased ammo. Listen to what the Military Arms Channel has to say on the subject and decide for yourself. Personally I have not had any problems with Wolf and I've bought hundreds of rounds of the Military Classic .223 FMJ.

A lot of sad people that realize they got #2 hole raped and will never get even close to their money back.

And I have trouble feeling bad for these people.... it's not the knowledgable people (like our fellow ODTers) that will be ripped off. Could be a good lesson for those that buy the $1200 AR with a plastic lower :)

As this guy says, there will probably not be any real movement on gun control until the next election (2 yrs) so all of the issues right now are caused by needless fear of the future.

Not true.
"A few days before Barack Obama's reelection on Tuesday, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) began getting ready to introduce legislation to bring back the assault weapons ban that expired in 2004." While it remains to be seen how successful she is, there is movement. She was co-author of the 1994 ban.
