open carry @ atlanta airport

Texas had a dumb ass law criminalizing open carry and they protested by legally open carrying long guns which served a purpose. It stirred up controversy and highlighted the issue. In the end it served its "purpose".

This guy was primarily attention seeking. With a permit we can carry in the airport and if accidently carrying or have a gun in a bag into a "secure" sterile area will be asked to depart and secure our firearm in a safe/legal area. Before July 1, 2014 get caught in a "secure" sterile area even with a permit and you'd go to jail and weapon would be confiscated.

It incenses liberals that we have gun rights and this is like fingers on a chalk board to them.

Now the REAL QUESTION to ask! Is how many "illegal" guns have been confiscated since July 1, 2014 after the passage/signage of the OMG "Guns Everywhere Bill". I strongly suspect the numbers they were plastering in the liberal media to PROHIBIT the bill have dropped significantly. The first clue is they quit mentioning it. I really wish someone would do a FOI and publish the significant drop of "illegal guns" in Atlanta's airport since July 1, 2014. It needs to be done.

In regards to TX, I remember people posting up pics here of all the open carriers in TX and commenting how it was going to hurt the cause. I'm pretty sure I was one of them. But it didn't hurt the cause, and in fact they passed open carry and campus carry (still don't have that here in GA).

I know these people look like dumbasses, but that's all they are is dumbasses. They're not hurting the gains we've made, and I'm beginning to wonder if they aren't helping us - in some cases.

But as long as it pisses off liberals, I can't complain one bit anymore.

Number 1 in the nation!

The number of weapons found in carry-on luggage is on the rise. Last year, more guns – around 100 -- were confiscated at Atlanta's airport more than any other in the county, according to General Manager Louis Miller.

"So far this year, we've already had 67 guns, so we are ahead of last year's pace," said Miller.

Federal Security Director Mary Leftridge-Byrd said that all the confiscations could cause delays to other travelers.

The airport has already added additional signs warning travelers about the restrictions.

Travelers can check unloaded firearms in checked baggage. Airline agents must be alerted to the firearm, FOX 5's Morse Diggs reports. In addition to criminal charges, violators face fines ranging from $3,000 to $7,500.

AJC says 2nd in the Nation-OMG!!!! Note it stops at November and we are now number 2 after about 4 months of the guns everywhere.

TSA has a "new record" for guns found..... November 2014 and frigging Texas beat us out. http://skift.com/2014/11/04/the-tsa-has-a-new-record-for-guns-found-at-airport-checkpoints/

Now the way they (liberal bed wetters) can make this work is alter "illegal guns" confiscated to "found guns" which are likely legal and the person denied passage until they secure it in a safe location. No fines or confiscation and detention.

Those idiots at the TSA should worry less about Constitutional guns and more about letting bombs through.

If they did their useless director wouldn't have to resign. Of course his ass should've been fired and paraded all over TV for the failure that he and is organization is.

TSA head resigns after airport security report

I get a huge case of paranoia when I have a weapon in a case to check for a flight.

This crap to prove a point makes us all look like we are border line idiots, he of course crossed the border IMHO.

Oh but he has been "moved". Guarantee he never took a pay cut and might have took a pay grade up. See where he is at in 1 year and how much he is making....

It pisses me off. It gives fuel to the libtards that write articles like this. Then the unsuspecting (or ignorant) public reads the articles and says "Oh Gosh, GA and AZ allow this. This is so scary. Something really needs to be done about these laws with all the shootings going on out there." Because you know, criminals follow the laws. So disarm the law abiding people and let the criminals continue to break the law. Other people's ignorance is not my responsibility, but it IS my burden.
