It's likely a partially obstructed gas port...did you try to stick a pipe cleaner or wire or some **** down in the gas block through to the barrel? See if it's plugged. There should be enough gas though...

Just wanted to let everyone know that the final fix was the mag latch.... the old one was not holding the rear of the mag up high enough for the bolt to fully catch the rounds every time. with a new latch in it runs fine! thanks for all the help everyone offered!!!!

mag could be seated to low,
could have a misfeed due to missing or improper ramp on bullet guide or misplacement.......machine a slight guide into the chamber chamfer
HP projectiles,
take out the recoil buffer......it reduces BCG inertia and travel


please report back after step by step starting with the bullet guide and feed path correction. something is causing a tipping up of the round into the receiver.........shouldn't be hard to correct that with proper geometry changes.

usually the culprit of many FTF, glad you fixed it. 10 points for me with the shotgun diagnosis
