Check out a dpms sportical. They cost around your price range. No dust cover or forward assist but who cares..

Check out Ga Gun Store in Gainesville. I got a S&W sport II for $539 plus tax (about $570 otd) a couple of months ago.
Yeah, it's a nice rifle. It doesn't have all the fancy attachments that some rifles have, but you can always add them later...

It can be close to that budget over time picking it up at PSA. I have a Premium upper and all the goodies at a little over $525.
