Is There Such A Thing As A Viable Tool For Self Defense For A Minor College Student

The martial arts have all kinds of one handed small weapons that can do real damage if you know how to use them. However, a weapon can be a crutch. You are only as good with that weapon as you are with your hands which requires training. Just like a gun. Pepper spray is the only thing you could use without extensive training. That and constantly tune into situational awareness. Walk with a purpose like your life is on the line every where you walk by yourself.
This right here^. I was a self defense instructor for many years. The problem is kids today are different, most can't focus on training long enough or put in the work to learn. Judo or Juijitsu for a girl. Straight up boxing and judo for a boy

Title pretty much poses the question;

"Is There Such A Thing As A Viable Tool For Self Defense For A Minor Aged College Student That Will Not Get Them Expelled?"

While I wish they could carry a CZ SP-01 loaded with Underwood 124 gr Nosler HPs, the legality and school mandates make this totally IMPOSSIBLE.

With that line of thinking the tazer, mace, knife of legit size and expandable wand is also off the radar by the dictatorship of most universities.

So other than Thunder and Lightning knuckled up, is there an option to train with?
I'm a lethal weapon. Send said minor to me for pointers. ;)

Just kidding.

If Bud Malmstrom still teaches Ninjitsu in Georgia sign her/him up for that. Some pretty good weapons training after you learn the basics like how to fall without hurting yourself.

When I took several different styles we actually made contact. Many a night I came home with a fat lip or taped ribs or blood my Gi from a busted nose. These winny little spoiled brats these days want to sue if they get thumped in the ear. So all that training is for not. You fight like you train. I tested in front of Bill Inmon in Corpus Christi Texas. I got near beat to s**t even for my brown belt.

These days they just go though the motions. I can take the end of my thumb and bounce you off the concrete like a basket ball. Them pressure points are a bitch. Boogar knows!

Pepper Gel, not spray.

Or if you're feeling spicy

The latter can be trained with. Practice balls. Heh.

It's probably banned by the college but I would go with a pepper ball gun. It stops an attacker in about a second and for at least 15 minutes. Seriously tears coughing and snot for a while. And the guns usually use C02 cartridges just like BB guns.
They're pretty much a good idea for anyone that doesn't want to carry a gun as well as people in high risk jobs like bail bondsmen, repo men etc.

That's the one I was just trying to remember in my comment. They're kind of expensive but definitely worth it.
