here is the situation, someone just tried to rob a convenient store and you caught him in the act when you were hidden in a isle of the store and pulled your gun and pointed it at him telling him to get on the floor or some such statement, the suspect had a baseball bat only and surrendered when he saw the gun.the suspect is unarmed and laying down on the floor, now what do you do?

do you wait for the cops to arrive and hold your gun pointed at him on the floor the whole time or what?

Tell him to roll over on his back then put one between his eyes ! Joke of course, hold it on him and call the law or else have someone else make the call. Watch him breath any other movement he's asking for a trip to the promised land.

Tell them to lay on their stomach and face away from you with there arms spread palms up, and to cross their ankles. I somewhat concur with the previous statement to get a good description, tag number, etc. OCGA 16-3-21 allows for use of lethal force in defense of a third party as well as yourself, and to prevent a forceable felony... Presenting deadly force needs to be backed by an actual fear of imminent death, or severe bodily harm.

It would be a very good idea to familiarize yourself w/ the Ga. Laws on Use of Lethal Force as the opinions on here will not necessarily help you in court whereas knowing those laws ahead of time will.

Not a bad answer.
