Fountain pens and fine writing instruments

More I than "we" I think. HAhaha! Thanks bro. And remember, as long as I got a trigger finger(and blood pumping through it)...

LOL,that MEME always makes me giggle. And ditto.

I have a Waterman, really flamboyant and hate it. NIB is too damn sensitive. I have a LAMY SAFARI that is really good quality and will not break the bank.

A REALLY COOL place to get some cool pens is https://www.massdrop.com/ It is a huge group buy community that has many SUB communities including EDC, Ultralight hiking, audio, and writing. The catch is you have to wait a couple weeks at least to get what you order. They take all pre-orders then submit to the manufacturers to do special runs, often your items are shipped direct from the manufacturers. I have completed dozens of transactions and the site is LEGIT. The writing community often has many pens, notepads, etc.

Here is the writing community: https://www.massdrop.com/writing

For EDC I am using the following much less expensive pens(I write A LOT for work):

Uni-Ball Jetstream Blue BOLD https://www.amazon.com/uni-ball-Jet...62560&sr=8-3&keywords=uniball+jet+stream+pens

uni-ball Signo 207, I use Brown which I purchase at http://www.artlitepens.com they are local to me. here is the blue version https://www.amazon.com/Uni-Ball-Bal...1469362711&sr=8-5&keywords=uni-ball+signo+207

Pilot HI-TEC-C, Green and Blue. https://www.amazon.com/Pilot-G-Tec-...d=1469362873&sr=8-6&keywords=pilot+gel+hi-tec

Thanks for the info. I will go look at them. I think I spend as much time browsing pens as I do USING them. ;)

"EDC" LOL.

I presently have a Waterman Phileas Harley Davidson fountain pen. My wife fell in love with the Blue Marble Phileas I had. I like it depending on the ink I use in it. Noodler's Bad Black Moccasin is AWESOME and Montblanc Royal Blue is smooth and rich as well. (Learning the inks is as much fun as learning the pens. If not quite as expensive.

I work around water and the documents I prepare are for governmental consumption(tests results for water analysis) so my work pens are ballpoints exclusively and black ink. My work pens are simple Parker IM ballpoints or Jotters.

My "EDC" pens are more varied. One of my favorites is my Pelikan K200 Ballpoint. And I am presently (but not patiently) awaiting the arrival a Montblanc 75th Anniversary Meisterstuck 164 ballpoint. Behind those are my Cross Townsend Medalist fountain and ballpoint(actually the wife also confiscated the fountain so I am using her rollerball of the same series. Then the Cross Bailey fountain and ballpoints depending on the mood.

I just bought two Skilcraft fountain pens(one came with a ballpoint. Both these pens are solid and well made. I spent six years in the army and every pen they had was Skilcraft. I like the idea of them being both all American and made by the blind to benefit the blind. Better to do something useful and worthwhile to support yourself than just ask for charity. I HIGHLY recommend Skilcraft products for every day use.

Unfortunately, I also ordered a dozen different Chinese fountain pens just for looks and because they were all $2-4 each shipped. Many of them are probably knock-offs of NICE pens but as long as thy are using their own names I have no real ethical complaints. I watched many youtube reviews and thy seem to be nice writing, well constructed pens, especially for the price.

I guess it's an eclectic collection with prices ranging from two to several hundred dollars.

One area I will not again skimp, however is ink. The cheap ink I bought saved me a few bucks but feels like dirty water even under the nib of my nicest pen. It is now relegated to filling the fountain pen I use for blotting out my name on junk mail.

If you become good enough and enjoy the creation of beautifully written characters but want your works to be see buy others and possibly earn money I suggest offering your services for wedding invitations. Then you can truthfully say your work has been read by 1000's.

LOL... EOS(Early Onset Senility). A memory is a terrible thing to waste. :p

My problem is I spent the better part of 50 years committing suicide by fork. It finally caught up with me. Now I gotta eat healthy and get mellow or I'ma goner fer sure.

OOh! Just got text notification that my new bottle of Montblanc Toffee brown ink has been delivered. And will sit on my front porch until 11:30 tonight...dangit.
