Someone with a steady hand and a carbide burr could get it out. Grind away just enough to relax the pin.
That could work; I don't have one. I did think about drilling it with a small bit...don't want to screw it up though.

Ah you beat me to it. I have this old Mosin 91\30 in the closet that would probably still be 9 feet long if it weren't for Icehouse tallboys. By the way those Russians used some really damn hard steel for those barrels. I broke my pipe cutter and one hacksaw blade and a pretty good buzz killing sweat cutting that barrel.I don't understand the angst. Doesn't everyone get drunk as sh*t before attempting precision work? Where is the challenge if you don't?
Drill it out and use an ez out bit
How much for it just like it is??? That's an easy fix.
