Blade chat

My EDC blade is a simple Dogfish neck knife, my son calls it my "tie".

Man that REALLY catches the eye. Beautiful! I like the damascus too. Is that real handmade damascus? I'm no expert of course but to me the peening looks a little too precise for hand made. The circles are so uniform and in such near perfect rows it looks machine stamped. I could be underestimating the smith badly though. I know when I'm looking at Katanas the wave of the sharpening tells a lot. A repeating or too perfect pattern indicates either a stamped blade providing uniform layers or a "faux" layering by etching. But this is way more intricate and pretty.

I've picked up a few new blades. My new EDC is. ZT 0350. Great operator and super blade.

I've purchased a Pocket Kilo by Dylan Fletcher, a SAR 3 by Busse and I have my eye on a beautiful Shadow IV of Chris Reeves.

These blades are almost as bad as guns as being addictive.

Next I'm wanting to meet up with Jericoh to pick a custom and want a Begg fixed and of course a nice Bill Coye. I need a few more jobs. Haha

There's a guy in Lula. Davidson is his name I think. He posts on GON. I've seen his knives in different shops. The one I recall is Smokey Mountain Trader on the square in Cleveland.

His name is Scott Davidson. I think his shop is called Solid Rock Knives. He's a super nice guy. I was able to visit his shop and talk with him about the knife he made for me. He's close to Wilson Shoals WMA.
