If the gas isn't even coming back to move the BCG and extractor, it wouldn't be the spring. Im guessing its the gas system.

Bolt will go back. It blows back far enough to lock with an empty mag.

I am not a fan of "some dude" builds but I like custom builds by reputable craftsmen.
