make mine a double!I made some today and I'm still a little drunk off of it. I made it last year but this batch is so much better. Even the wife will drink it! I made a couple of gallons and saved some for the kids before adding the alcohol. Not to mention the house still smells great 12hrs later.
1 gal apple juice. not from concentrate
1 gal dark apple cider. not from concentrate
3 cups white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3 tsp vanilla extract
6 chopped granny smith apples
8 sticks cinnamon
1 750ml bottle of everclear
bring to boil and simmer for 4-5hrs
let cool and add everclear before bottling
I used cheese cloth to separate solids.
Best when slightly warm. Enjoy
I know the best place in Georgia for apple cider, I live 10 miles from Ellijay on Fort Mountain..I found a little store near McCaysville, that has the best I have ever had.This looks real good.. but need to go to Apple house in Ellijay for their Apple Cider
I plan to start a batch when I get home but u have to ask some questions on the cooking process. Do you cover the pot during cooking to reduce evaporation or leave the top off? Also do you bring it to a boil and back it off just a tad or let it boil for the full 4-5 hours?
