Sweating copper pipes is easy, using shark bites connectors is even easier.

Had the same problem with our toilet,, would whistle or screech very loud,, changed the flush unit insid the tank,, it quit

Same fix in my Dads house.

I have a pressure gage on order, and I will see how that goes. Hopefully if I have to replace the pressure reducing valve, I can reuse the existing union nuts. I can get a replacement pvr online for about $65, thanks everyone who contributed.

I will, I am going to check the pressure, change the filters, recheck the pressure. Depending on how that turns out, I will either change the pvr, or flush the vent stacks with a hose, or both. If that doesn't fix it, not sure what else to try.
