If you saw the conditions in the countries that are losing people, you would understand why they leave. You don't see millions of South Koreans or Japanese coming in Illegally and staying. They are looking for a better life, nothing more. You only get one and have to live it the best you can. I don't fault them for wanting to be here, but we have to fix the problem for sure.

I agree we should take Mexico and while were at it get Canada to...THEN we protect the border for real. Ever seen an Arab crawl across an ice flow when its 30 below. Obama is our problem. He brings 140,000 Muslims into this country every month and have you noticed that all the black folks you talk with these days have an accent. It seems at the intersection of 285 and 78 there is a large community of apartments and they are all full with Africans from all over the continent. The government brings them over and teaches them English, gives them drivers license and social security numbers for six months and then either gives them low interest mortgages. When they can't pay the rent the government steps in and reacclimates them. I read about this in the NY times and there are three large camps around the United states, but nobody in Atlanta knows about it.

I'd love to see some reliable sources for this.

Finally, someone hits a key point. If you've ever been to Mexico you understand why anyone who can run, jump, or swim is willing to come North. It's a very corrupt country and culture. How can you not leave when even Doctors and lawyers don't even make our minimum wage? It's not about coming to America where you can live off the tit, but its about coming to America to make more money and a better life.

That under the table pay could and should be fixed. I do understand why they are hired though. I've worked with Mexicans that simply amazed me with their work ethic. You don't see that in our society's youth. I used to milk cows on a huge farm when I was younger. Now they only have Mexicans doing it because American's are too lazy. I'm not saying all Americans are lazy, but a huge portion of the under 30 crowd are lazy as hell.

I've been around for some time now, and have seen immigration spikes before in EU and US, but it seems more like an exodus rather than systemic increases in illegal immigration. My question is WHY and WHAT are they fleeing? This is usually due to perceived opportunity(or real) or lawlessness in current country...

I think Mexicans come here because they pay no taxes on what they earn-and they get all the "free" health care they can stand.

(Plus, Mexico is getting bad. The cartels really are getting stupid down there.)
