Who shoots long range?

From the size of my group shooting an open sighted 22 rifle at 100 yards on Sunday, from the sitting position and no sling ,
that was a "long range."
In fact that was too long of a range for my old eyes and muscles.

This Savage 110 BA .338 Lapua Magnum has been taken to 1,000 yards a few times in South Dakota and had plenty of range for the 1 mile mark. Glass is the Athlon Argos 8-34x56 mil/mil ffp.

K & M Precision Shooting complex in Finger ,Tn. has several long range classes and multiple firing ranges including 300 and 500 moving targets. 1,200 yd range, everything about the range is immaculate. very cool place to train/shoot

A few of my current ones.

Steyr SSG-69 .308 that I cut to 16.5” and threaded. Nightforce ATACR F1 4-16x42mm.

Well, only “long range” if 400yds or so is long range! .300 Blackout built by Accurate Ordnance on a Remington Model Seven action. Nightforce NXS Compact 3.5-10x32mm. With 220grn subs and a 100yd zero, she’s got 176” (44MOA) at 400yds. #rainbow

Currently the one I shoot the most. Bergara LE model 18” .308. Nightforce NX8 F1 4-32x50mm.

JP Enterprises LRP-07 .308. Nightforce ATACR F1 4-16x42mm. This is the gun that changed my mind on how accurate a semi-auto can be. First day on the range with her, still breaking the barrel in, 7 rounds of M118LR into sub-.5MOA.

That Steyr SSG-69 looks familiar!

My buddy and I at mammoth sniper challenge in 2019 and 2020. We placed 31/80 in 2019 and then we shot 15 points higher in 2020 and we placed 34/80 :D:confused:

Couple of hunting and shooting pics. Sorry for all the pics, I really, really love long range shooting. It’s a passion.

People really don't use their packs enough. Typically my favorite thing to shoot off of if I can't go prone.

It's a country club for long range. Love shooting there

Gone to a mile with my 6.5 creedmoor, successfully, on an a full size IPSC. Spend the vast majority of my time 1400 and in due to range restrictions. Shoot all over the SE. Favorite place so far is GTI Legion in SC. Just a cool place all around.

This is my current go-to. Bolt gun guy at heart here.

Impact 737r action, Proof Competition Contour (think beefier MTU profile, I may have gone a bit overboard) barrel in 6.5 CM, Area 419 brake, MPA BA comp chassis, TT Diamond trigger, Atlas CAL gen 2. Topped with an ATACR F1 7-35 with Tremor 3 reticle. Mostly shoot practical/tactical/PRS, so put together for that purpose.

Haven't taken the plunge into ELR . Want to, but don't have regular access to a range to justify another pricy stick.
