Went to the honey hole today and caught these, what are they ?

Chain pikeral...jack fish...related to Muskie but smaller...killed all our crappie in one of out farm ponds had to have a biologist come out and shock them out for us

Those are NOT Walleye. That is a Chain Pickerel. Southern fisherman...you'd be strung up by your gonads for calling that a walleye in the north country. :D

That is a Sauger. If you GOOGLE" Sauger Images, you'll be able to see it. It's from the Walleye family.
It is not a sauger, although they are related to walleye. There is also a Saugeye that I regularly caught on the Niobrara river in NE. Check out the "chain" like markings on the side. That is where the name chain pickeral came from. They were introducerd into many lakes and ponds as a way to clean up invasive species, and became a nuisance in their own right. Lots of fun to catch though. Google Chain Pickeral

OK, this should clear it up, and no this isn't me. The first pic is that of a huge walleye, the second of the chain pickerel. Not even close, like calling a deer a turkey.
